ROBERT HALL ARTIST

         GALLERY CONTACT

Born in Montreal, Canadian impressionist Robert Hall comes from a family of artists including his paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Hall (nee Hesketh) and two of her sons, John and Fred.

Robert started painting seriously in 1992 and had his first show in 1994 at the Assinaboia Gallery in Regina. From that success he has participated in two shows at the Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina, Assinaboi Gallery in Saskatoon, several one man shows at Humberston Edwards in West Vancouver, Hambleton Art Gallery in Kelowna, and the West End Galleries in Victoria and Edmonton.
Robert was commissioned by the City of Regina to create a poster commemorating the visit of HRH Prince Edward to that city in 1994.
His paintings hang in the collections of corporations across North America, Europe and Asia.

His style has evolved over the years and can be described as light hearted and spirited, with great emphasis on colour and the feelings and mood imparted by the position of a hand, the tilt of a head, or a sideways glance.
Like the French Impressionists, his use of light produces distinct feelings of happiness. Robert enjoys painting in what he calls his "funky" style . Some examples are shown in the Gallery with a short narrative.
Robert lives and works in James Bay Victoria, British Columbia.
He is an Active Status Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
